Balsamic Green Beans with Cashews

Everyone at home loves eating steak. Our favorite cut is the rib eye with a good marbling of fat. I noticed that it imparts the most flavor, tenderness and juiciness to cooked steak. What levels-up a steak dinner is the side dish that accompanies it. We usually have mashed potatoes, corn and carrots, and steamed broccoli as sides. But for this recipe, I will be sharing a side dish that my hubby doesn't really like- hoping to change his mind to try it, and maybe appreciate it as well. Here's my take on Balsamic Green Beans with Cashews.

What you need:

500 grams Green Beans
2 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
1 tbsp. Honey
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tbsp. olive oil
salt and pepper
A handful of cashews, chopped

1 Heat oil and saute garlic just until it turns golden on the sides. Set Aside.

2 Blanch green beans then immediately place in a an ice water bath. Drain and set aside.

3 Mix Balsamic Vinegar and Honey. Sprinkle some salt and pepper.

4 In a serving dish, drizzle olive oil on the green beans and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix in the sauteed garlic, the balsamic and honey mixture, and chopped cashews. Make sure to coat the green beans evenly.

5 Serve as a side dish to steak and enjoy!
